I chose a large margin at the bottom, as I felt this would give plenty of space for page numbers.
As you can see, I set up a 4 x 4 modular grid. I feel this would be really simple and effective to work with. I want my book to be highly functional and easy to understand, and using this grid should do so.
I then produced a variety of ways I could use this grid, as you can see below:
