Spray Painting Edges of Business Card

I began by elevating the cards, and used weights to squash the cards down. 

Sketchbooks

I spray painted two sketchbooks. The smaller sketchbook was entirely spray painted black, whilst the large sketchbook had the sides of the pages painted. I did this the same way as the business cards, but ensured to mask off the top and bottom pages. 

Poster Tubes

Similarly to the large sketchbook, I masked off certain areas I did not want to spray. Each tube was divided in half, one of them horizontally, the other vertically.

Business Cards / Exhibition Guide Cover

The business cards were printed on an undyed, natural mount board, then cut out by hand. 

The front cover for the exhibition booklet was printed on a canvas stock, available in the print room.

The printed business cards:

The difference in size between a British business card and a Japanese business card. 

A folding bone was used to fold the pages properly.

Ticket Roll

I experimented with two different stocks for the tickets. The greyer stock is the option I shall go for. 

The tickets were cut into strips, designed the same width as the roll (5.5cm)

The tickets were perforated.

OUGD505 - Studio Brief 2 - Posters Developed

After working with my new and improved concept and developed logotypes, I produced the finalised posters which can be seen below:

I spent a long time thinking about this project, and realised that despite having an audience for the exhibition, I barely had a concept. This made designing across a variety of platforms really difficult.

I came up with a concept I could work with:

Monozukuri is all about well considered construction and manufacturing process. The logo could over go the same treatment as the process of monozukuri in product design. It can be stripped down to it's basics, and reconstructed in a more considered, refined form. 

With this is mind, I produced the design sheet below:
